2022 Winter Frost White from Nilgiri, India.

Harvested in the first week of January 2022, this is from 2021-2022 winter season harvest. Crafted carefully with an early morning plucking on colder days of the season, the goal is to preserve the freshness of the leaf and making sure it does not bruise at all during transport to the factory. They use their signature hot water heating system to make sure that the room is heated evenly and does not require blowing hot air for the wither. As always, this harvest is very close to last years and once again Nilgiri continues to surprise us with its consistency!

The dry leaf has a minty and spice aroma with undertones of white flowers. When placed on heated ware, there is a hint of cream along with a mild wintergreen aroma. On the later infusions, there is a touch of peppermint as well but the white flower notes of lilies, jasmine, orchids along with some night jasmine dominate all the infusions and that is clearly one of the defining features of this tea. You can extract all the white flower notes when brewed western style in a single brew or can go for a gongfu brewing to have more clarity on the progression, both the methods suit it well!
