Presenting our last first flush from 2025, the 2025 Meghalaya First Flush. A very early batch made in the last week of March, this one is our favourite first flush batch since a very long time! Carefully handcrafted by the folks at Lakyrsiew Estate, Meghalaya. This is one tea which looks as beautiful as their estate by the Umiam Lake.
The dry leaf smells fruity, with notes of white flowers and pear. When placed on the heated ware, you get notes of apple, pear and orange. On your first sip, you get notes of white flowers and white oud. The perfumy part is remarkable, making sure to remind you that you are drinking something spectacular. As you sip further, you can experience notes of cardamom and ripe apricot. On further sips, you get a cooling finish accompanied by a hint of cedarwood note. The fruity part is complex with notes pear, apple, orange and apricot always dancing together. The aftertaste lasts long and is fruity too, with notes of guava dominating it. It has been an incredible year for Indian first flush teas and we are happy to offer as many interesting ones we could!
