Introducing the 2023 version of our most popular green tea, the Nilgiri Highland Green. We have got the early March version this time. Although it is not very different from the early January one we got last year. The folks at Nilgiri are experts at maintaining consistency throughout the year, their innovative processing techniques make sure that their tea remains top notch always. We are so spoilt for choice that we always look for the top 1% when it comes to Nilgiri teas and are thankful to the tea makers for being extremely supportive in doing so!
The dry leaf aroma is like mango mostly, with a hint of yellow flowers. When placed on the heated ware, you get a buttery and umami aroma. The liquor too has hint of mangoes and yellow flowers. The umami note is stronger this year but has the same character, vegetal. The butter note is mellowed down this time. As you sip further, you experience notes of armenian cucumber and freshly cut grass, even these notes are significantly more pronounced in this batch. The liquor texture is thicker this time, which makes the buttery and umami notes stand out even more. There are hints of while flowers when the liquor cools down as well. The fresh cut grass and mango note stay with you for long and its a refreshing aftertaste to have. We hope you enjoy yet another great batch of this beautiful tea!
