Adding one more Assam black tea to our collection, the Assam Orthodox Black. This tea has everything you love about Assam black teas, just with copious amounts of sweetness! Like the Assam Orthodox Gold, this too is made by Mr. Maddhurjya Gogoi.

The dry leaf smells malty with hints of jaggery, when placed on the heated ware, the jaggery note transforms into a milky version, similar to milk and jaggery based Indian confectionery. The first sip itself will bring you the sweetness we were talking about, complex with notes of molasses, jaggery and caramel. The malty character is also present, giving the liquor a very comforting and thick texture. There's a hint of rose syrup as the liquor cools down. The liquor is also rich with notes of oranges and wood when brewed gongfu style. With western style brewing, the sweet notes shine from the first sip to the end.
