Nilgiri Needle White Tea. Harvested right at the end of Spring 2021 season, this is the first unopened bud white tea offered by us!
It is grown in Coonoor, Nilgiri at an altitude of 6300 feet. Their motto is to preserve the leaf's character resulting in some exceptional teas. The artisans making this tea work hard in the misty and steep hills of Nilgiris bringing you this experience!
The leaves are soft and velvety with a greenish silver hue. The dry leaves have a flowery aroma with hints of white rose and lilies. When placed on the heated teaware, the leaves release some fruity notes resembling ripe pear, the sweet aroma spreads through your space making for a relaxing tea time experience. These notes translate well into the liquor with notes of pears and cantaloupes. The white flower notes are present on the finish with a long aftertaste along with a herb like minty-spicy note. The liquor is thick in consistency, with a honeylike mouthfeel. When brewed gong fu style, the thick liquor is one of the defining features of the tea. This is yet another interesting addition to our Nilgiri tea collection which is worth trying for it soft and sweet notes.
