Mizoram Highland Black
Trust us to get you some real tea from far away corners of India. This time its Mizoram, the southernmost state in the beautiful North East India. Located just below Manipur, it is an even lesser known tea producing area in India. As always, exploring new terroirs have been a very significant part of our journey and most of the times it is rewarded by a discovery of amazing teas which continuously change our perception of the experiences Indian tea can provide us with.
Like the Mizoram Highland Black, this is also crafted at the same estate at an altitude of 4500 feet. This is a smooth orthodox black with a finesse only highland teas can provide. The infusion is creamy/milky and has a thick liquor. The initial aroma is of white flowers and nuts. The liquor starts milky with notes of jasmine and stone fruits. Honey like sweetness and astringency greet you as soon as you are comfortable with the palette. The defining feature is the everlasting smoothness and the sweet liquor. Like the Mizoram Highland Black, this tea has notes of candied fruits too, dominant in ripe peaches and mangoes.
We feel this tea also works great grandpa style, so if you are looking for a smooth easy brewing tea which also has a good amount of complexity, this is the one!
